Professional

God called me to serve Him in the pastorate when I was a teenager, a task for which I am not worthy but in His perfect plan His power is made perfect in our weakness (II Cor. 12:9).  I spent several years trying to run from that call, but thankfully, He did not run from me!  The church called me to serve as the Senior Pastor effective July 1, 2015, and before that I had been serving as the Pastor of Administration since March 2013.  My family and I have been a part of Faith since March 2010.  In order that I might be best prepared for this calling, I am pursuing a Master of Divinity degree through the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Prior to submitting to God’s call in my life, I taught Political Science at Western Michigan University for several years and at Alma College for a year as a visiting professor.  I am constantly being blessed by the wonderful people that I have the privilege of serving here at Faith.  God is good, all the time!

Personal

God has blessed me beyond all possible description. Above all, by His grace I am saved, forgiven of my sin, and adopted as a son of God. What’s more, He has given me a wonderful family: my wife Aryn, son Isaac, daughter Reagan, and youngest son Elijah.

On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my family, woodworking, photography, golf, and sports in general – with the exception of soccer. 🙂 On Saturdays in the fall, you’ll find me rooting for my beloved Georgia Bulldawgs (and my wife’s beloved MSU Spartans).  It is exciting to see God moving in and through the people of Faith to accomplish His purposes in Battle Creek!
