Making Peace

Making Peace

Nearly everyone – from beauty pageant contestants to Communist dictators – express their desire for peace. But as is often the case, how we define a term makes all the difference. For the beauty pageant contestant, it might mean the absence of armed conflicts; for the Communist dictator, it might mean the absence of resistance to Communism. In the seventh Beatitude, Jesus says that the peacemakers are those whom God approves (the “blessed”), but what does it mean to be a peacemaker? Is there a difference between a peacemaker and a peacekeeper? And how extensive is the peace that Jesus is describing? We invite you to join us as we study Matthew 5:9 and see what it means to be “Making Peace.”
