Jesus, the Righteous One

Who is the righteous man described in Psalm 1, and how does this ancient psalm point us to Jesus Christ? In this opening message of our Christ in the Psalms series, we examine the character, fruitfulness, and ultimate vindication of the righteous one, discovering that God's perfect standard of righteousness exposes our sinful condition and our inability to save ourselves. We see how Jesus Christ alone lived the perfectly righteous life we could never live, died upon the cross as our substitute to bear the judgment our sins deserve, and rose victoriously from the grave, securing salvation for His people. Ultimately, we discover the glorious message of the Gospel: salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, as God forgives our sins, credits Christ's perfect righteousness to all who repent and believe, and gives us new life that bears the fruit of genuine faith.
