As Often As We Eat and Drink

What is the purpose of the Lord’s Supper, and who should participate in it? In this message, we examine how Communion proclaims the heart of the Gospel: Jesus Christ gave His body and shed His blood to redeem sinners, securing forgiveness and eternal life for all who trust in Him. We also explore the biblical meaning of the Lord’s Supper, including our unity in Christ, and explain why we practice close Communion, inviting baptized believers who are members in good standing of a local church to participate. Finally, we consider how the Lord’s Table calls us to repentance, strengthens our faith in Christ’s finished work, and directs our hope toward the glorious day when our risen Savior returns.
