Cursed, So We Might Be Free

All who rely on works of the Law are under a curse, because God’s Law demands perfect obedience and exposes every human being as guilty before a holy God. While the Law is good and reflects God’s righteous character, it cannot justify sinners, since salvation is received by faith and not by works. Ultimately, Christ redeems us from the curse by becoming a curse for us on the cross, so that in union with Jesus Christ we might receive forgiveness, the blessing promised to Abraham, and the gift of the Holy Spirit through faith.
