Father Abraham Has Many Sons

If you grew up in the Church during a certain time, you probably sang the song, “Father Abraham Has Many Sons.” But did you know this children's song presents a profound truth from Galatians 3:6–9? In that passage, Paul shows how Abraham was justified not by works, ritual, or law-keeping, but by faith in God’s promise, establishing the pattern of salvation for all believers. We'll see that the true children of Abraham are not defined by heritage or performance, but by faith in Christ alone, as the Gospel promised to Abraham finds its fulfillment in Jesus and extends God’s blessing to all nations. Believers are challenged to live as sons of Abraham by walking daily in faith, rejecting legalism, resting in grace, and participating in God’s global mission to proclaim the gospel to the world.
