Dying to Self, Living to God
Apr 12, 2026 • Roy Henry
One of the most prevalent objections to the doctrine of justification by faith alone is that it encourages sinful living. Paul anticipates and answers that objection in Galatians 2:17-21 by showing that true grace does not produce lawlessness, but a transformed life rooted in union with Christ. Believers, having died to the law and to self-reliance, are now alive to God through the finished work of Jesus Christ, who loved us and gave Himself for us. Through the power of the Gospel, Christians are called to live a cruciform life marked by daily repentance, dependence upon Christ, and joyful submission to His will as they walk by faith in the Son of God.
