The Freedom of Justification

In Galatians 2:15-16, Paul confronts the false hope of self-righteousness and proclaims that sinners are justified before God by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. As we work through this text, we explore the sufficiency of Christ’s finished work on the cross, the inability of the law or human effort to save, and the necessity of personally trusting in Jesus Christ as the only basis for a right standing before God. Through the Gospel, believers are freed from condemnation, released from the burden of earning God’s favor, and empowered to obey God out of gratitude and love rather than fear and legalism.
